Sarlat built around a Benedictine abbey founded the late 8th century. The present church Holy Priesthood (former Cathedral) was built in the 16th and 17th centuries. The facade of the former bishopric (now theater and tourist office) draws attention: Gothic windows at 1st floor, Renaissance on the 2nd floor and upper gallery of Italian Renaissance style.
