Today I'll tell you about a beautiful building which is the of Chateau Fontenay Fontenay-les- Briis , a heritage gem in the department of Essonne .
Built by the family of Signac, this castle replaces perhaps a medieval past. In 1854, the then dilapidated castle is fully restored by Mr. Thayer. Purchased by the family Chardin in 1870, it stands on its own until 1937, when it was bought by the CGT union staff of the League of Transit in the Paris region. It is now a recreation center for the RATP. The classical building, built in the middle of a vast park consists of a central square flanked by two pavilions facade slightly protruding. The roof, four sides is pierced with dormer windows.
